Quenouille CyQlus: Overconsumption
Theme
We are being bombarded by packages. With just one click of a button your order will be on your doorstep the very next day. But then the question arises, do you truly need this? Or did fal for yet another marketing scheme or got swept up into the newest social media trend? The lifespan of many products is deliberately shortened through lower quality, simply to nudge customers into buying a new item sooner. All of this has led to a society driven by overconsumption. The impact of this is significant, which is why it is important to take action. Change is possible at an individual level and during this night the first step can be taken!
What to expect?
On the of 3rd of March, together with stichting Overlap, we are organising a night focused around this theme. It is an event open to everyone so feel free to bring your friends and housemates to learn more together. The night will consists of two parts:
Lecture about overconsumption
Creative workshop, focused on learning techniques to prolong the lifespan of your clothing or other textile products. Options during this night are: repairing old items, create a patch or learning techniques like Sashiko 🪡🧵
